If your iHealth blood pressure monitor displays an error message, find the exact code below for the cause and steps to resolve it. Codes are listed as they appear on the monitor screen.
"Er 0" â pressure system unstable
The pressure system was not stable when the measurement started, usually caused by movement during the test.
- Sit still, relax, and remain motionless.
- Press the Start/Stop button to take a new measurement without moving.
"Er 1" â unable to detect systolic pressure
The monitor could not detect your systolic (upper) blood pressure reading.
- Check that the cuff is placed correctly â tube facing downward, on a bare arm, about 2 cm above the elbow.
- Make sure the cuff fits snugly but not too tightly. You should be able to insert one finger between your arm and the cuff.
- Confirm the cuff connector is fully inserted into the monitor.
- Sit still and take a new measurement.
"Er 2" â unable to detect diastolic pressure
The monitor could not detect your diastolic (lower) blood pressure reading.
- Check that the cuff is placed correctly â tube facing downward, on a bare arm, about 2 cm above the elbow.
- Make sure the cuff fits snugly. You should be able to insert one finger between your arm and the cuff.
- Confirm the cuff connector is fully inserted into the monitor.
- Sit still and take a new measurement.
"Er 3" â cuff too tight or pneumatic system blocked
The pneumatic system is blocked, or the cuff was too tight during inflation.
- Remove the cuff and re-apply it to your bare arm, about 2 cm above the elbow.
- The cuff should be snug but comfortable â you should be able to insert one finger between your arm and the cuff.
- Make sure the cuff tube is not kinked, pinched, or twisted.
- Take a new measurement.
"Er 4" â cuff too loose or air leak
The pneumatic system has a leak, or the cuff was too loose during inflation.
- Re-apply the cuff, making sure it is firmly secured with the Velcro fastener.
- Check that the cuff connector is fully inserted into the monitor socket â a loose connection causes air leakage.
- Make sure the cuff tube is not kinked or restricted.
- Take a new measurement.
"Er 5" â cuff pressure above 300 mmHg
The cuff inflated to an unusually high pressure. This can happen if the cuff was too tight or if there was a blockage in the tubing.
- Wait 5 minutes before taking another measurement.
- Re-apply the cuff correctly and ensure the tube is not kinked or restricted.
- If the error appears again, contact our support team via the webform.
"Er 6" â cuff remained pressurized for more than 3 minutes
The cuff stayed at a pressure above 15 mmHg for more than 3 minutes, which may indicate a valve issue.
- Wait 5 minutes before taking another measurement.
- If Er 6 appears again, contact our support team via the webform.
"Er 7" â EEPROM access error
The monitor encountered an internal memory error.
- Wait 5 minutes, then take a new measurement.
- If Er 7 continues, contact our support team via the webform.
"Er 8" â device parameter error
The monitor detected an error during its internal parameter check.
- Wait 5 minutes, then take a new measurement.
- If Er 8 continues, contact our support team via the webform.
"Er A" â pressure sensor error
The monitor's pressure sensor has encountered a parameter error.
- Wait 5 minutes, then take a new measurement.
- If Er A continues, contact our support team via the webform.
Monitor shows no response when pressing a button or installing batteries
This is caused by incorrect operation or strong electromagnetic interference near the device.
- Remove all four batteries from the battery compartment on the back of the monitor.
- Wait 5 minutes.
- Reinsert all four batteries, checking the correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
- Move the monitor away from other electronic devices such as routers or microwaves â at least 10 metres is recommended.
- Try operating the monitor again.
âšī¸ The iHealth monitor uses 4 x AAA alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not suitable for this device.
