Here are some of the different errors you might run into while using your iGlucose Blood Glucose Monitor, what they mean, and recommended troubleshooting steps.
Temperature Error
Description: This error message indicates that the result from the reading may be inaccurate due to significantly low or high ambient temperature (lower than 10℃ / 50℉, or higher than 40℃ / 104℉).
Recommended Steps: To resolve this, please move the device to a location with temperature in this range (10°-40 ℃ or 50°-104℉) and wait 45 minutes to allow the device temperature to adjust. DO NOT artificially cool or heat the device, as this can damage the internal systems.
Sampling Error
Description: This error indicates that either:
- A blood sample was applied to the test strip before the meter displayed: “Apply a drop of blood”
OR
- When testing a control solution, a drop of control solution was applied to the test strip before the meter displayed: “Apply a drop of control solution”.
Recommended Steps: Please discard the used test strip and retest using a new strip.
Used or Damaged Test Strip
Description: This error indicates that the test strip was previously used or otherwise damaged.
Recommended Steps: Repeat the test with a new testing strip.
Device Malfunction
Description: This error indicates that the device encountered a problem when processing your most recent blood sample.
Recommended Steps: If you see this error, you should first perform a Quality Control Test with the provided testing solution to ensure that your device is working properly. We also recommend reinstalling the batteries as an additional step. If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact the Lark Support Team for further assistance.
Signal Failure
Description: The signal failure message indicates that the device was unable to establish a cellular network connection.
Recommended Steps: If possible, move the device to a location with stronger cell signal, such as near a window. Next, repeat the test with a new test strip. If the issue persists, please contact the Lark Support Team for further assistance.
Strip Error
Description: This error message indicates an issue with the test strip used in the most recent test.
Recommended Steps: Remove the strip, check it for any damage or irregularities, and reinsert to retry the test. If unsuccessful, discard the strip and use a new one.
Low Blood Volume
Description: This indicates that there was insufficient blood on the test strip to complete the result.
Recommended Steps: Discard the strip and repeat the test with a new strip.
Auto Coding Error
Description: An issue calibrating the meter has occurred.
Recommended Steps:
- Remove the strip from the meter.
- Turn on the meter (press and hold the "home" button for three seconds).
- Press and hold the “home” button again to turn the meter on and insert the test strip.
- If you do not see the error message again your meter is functioning properly and able to perform a test.
