Google is retiring Google Fit soon and replacing it with Health Connect - a new, smarter way to bring your health data together in one secure place for use by apps like Lark. If you already have Health Connect installed on your phone, open the Lark app and Lark will prompt you to connect with it.
Installing Health Connect
-
First, check if Health Connect is installed.
- For older Android versions, Health Connect is an app you can install:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.healthdata&hl=en_US
-
For newer Android version, Health Connect is part of your phone settings:
- In your phone’s Settings, search for Health Connect. If it appears, you have Health Connect.
Connecting a Fitness App to Health Connect
Health Connect doesn’t track data on its own, so you will need to connect it with your favorite health app on your phone. We suggest Fitbit, Samsung Health, or any one of these other apps. Those apps have their own in-app instructions to connect them to Health Connect or you can use Health Connect to manage your health data permissions.
Note: Google Fit can connect with Health Connect and will work until Google retires it in 2025.
Connecting to Health Connect
To connect a fitness app to Health Connect:
- Open Health Connect.
- Tap App Permissions.
- Tap any apps under Not allowed access that you would like to allow access to Health Connect. You can also view the permissions of any app under Allowed access.
You can also connect Lark to Health Connect using this method.
- When you open the Lark app, a prompt appears to connect Health Connect with Lark.
- Grant Lark permission to Health Connect. Lark will now sync with your Health Connect data!
